Curriculum for 2012 - 2013

Our teens after they lead worship May 19, 2013

Middle School - Grades 6-8: “In Our Hands – A Peace and Social Justice Program”

For centuries the Unitarian and Universalist traditions have been deeply committed to the causes of peace and justice. Peace is the achieving of justice, cooperation and nonviolence. Justice is the realization of peace, freedom and equality. Both are necessary for human fulfillment. Using hands-on, creative approaches, this curriculum engages the youth in addressing age-old problems with contemporary and realistic solutions. We will also engage our Middle Schoolers in planning a monthly event, whether a social justice project or social gathering as they begin to form their own youth group.

High School - Grades 9-12: “OWL” – Our Whole Lives

Comprehensive sexuality education is about much more than just anatomy and health. It’s about values, respect, emotions, communication, and justice. Sexuality is sacred, part of the mystery of the universe, which is why we teach OWL in our community of faith.

Note: OWL meets after worship twice per month.
